The JSE Index advanced by 1,365 points on Thursday, while the Junior Market Index advanced by 17 points.
There was trading in 103 stocks of which 52 advanced, 39 declined and 12 traded firm.
First Rock Real Estate Investments US Dollar share was the volume leader with 24 per cent of total volume.
