MPC Caribbean Clean Energy (MPCCEL) is to sell its indirect shareholding in a five-megawatt solar power plant in El Salvador for approximately US$3.27 million.
The company says the sale agreement was signed on September 11 through its subsidiary, MPC Renewables Central America and Caribbean, and MPC Oceanic Investments.
The buyer is Potenza Holdings.
The solar project, known as San Isidro Fotovoltaica, is located in Cabañas, El Salvador, and began commercial operations in early 2021.
MPCCEL acquired its indirect stake in the project in December 2020.
The agreed purchase price is subject to customary adjustments following signing and at closing.
Completion of the transaction is also subject to certain conditions and is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
MPCCEL says the sale agreement includes customary representations, warranties, indemnities and termination provisions.
