The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) on Tuesday, July 5, unveiled its new US Denominated Equities Market, which will allow companies to list their shares in US dollars.
Trading and settlement can also take place using the American currency.
This is a first in the English-speaking Caribbean.
Donavon Perkins, the Chairman of the JSE, says the new market has the potential to further expand the Stock Exchange and its listings as well as provide additional investment options for persons interested in diversifying their portfolios.
PROVEN Limited will become the first listing on the US Denominated Equities Market.
This will take place on July 14.
