JSE’s new private market to help improve access to finance

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke says the Jamaica Stock Exchange's newly launched private market will help the country improve access to finance.

The portal, which was launched on Monday, facilitates the listing and trading of private debt and equity issues on the US Nasdaq platform.

This will be done under Financial Services Commission guidelines.

”This will allow for greater price discovery and for greater liquidity. It will build secondary market participation and offer opportunities for investors and corporate alike,” the Finance Minister said.

The new platform is aimed at providing dealers and their qualified clients with more diversified investment opportunities and increase activities in the securities market.
