Liberty Global, the world's largest cable company, and UK phone network operator Vodafone on Monday agreed to combine their operations in the Netherlands by creating a joint venture.
Liberty Global is also in the process of acquiring Cable & Wireless Communications, FLOW's parent company.
Vodafone will pay €1 billion to Liberty as part of the agreement to combine its mobile operations with Liberty's fiber broadband network, Ziggo, in a 50-50 joint venture.
The companies made the announcement in a joint statement.
