Jamaican swimmers have one week remaining to qualify for World Aquatics Championships

Jamaican swimmers have just one week remaining to qualify for the World Aquatics Championships, set to take place in Singapore from July 11 to August 3. The qualification period which started on March 9, will close on May 31. To secure a spot, swimmers must achieve either the "A" or "B" standard time.

So far, three Jamaican swimmers have managed to attain the "B" standard requirement. Jessica Calderbank achieved the mark in the 50m butterfly with a time of 26.93 seconds at the 2024 McCullagh International meet in Northern Ireland.

Josh Kirlew secured his spot with in the 100m butterfly at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in London, while Kito Campbell qualified with a time of 27.99 seconds in the 50m  breaststroke at the 2025 TYR Pro Series in Fort Lauderdale.
