Local users of streaming platform Netflix will pay less for their subscriptions starting this month.
Jamaica is among a list of countries where Netflix has slashed its rates.
More than 100 territories, not including the United States, are to benefit.
In some markets, the discount only applies to select Netflix subscription tiers.
In Jamaica, the service costs have been cut by almost 50 per cent across the board.
The standard service which cost US$10.99 last month, will now cost $5.99.
Netflix says the decision is in a bid maintain subscribers, as competition increases and consumer spending is reduced.
Amazon Prime, Disney and other platforms have been eating into Netflix's market share.
The company saw a major dip in membership last year, especially after it announced it will prohibit the sharing of passwords for accounts.
