A new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has been appointed to head MBJ Airports Limited.

MBJ operates the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James on behalf of the Airports Authority of Jamaica.

The company announced on Monday that Eduardo Canelas has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer effective January 21.

Mr. Canelas, who is from Bolivia, previously served as Chief Executive Officer at that country's El Alto International Airport.

He replaced Fernando Bosque, who joined MBJ as CEO in June 2007 and supervised the completion of the US$180 million expansion and renovation of the Sangster International Airport.
