Dr. Horace Chang, the Minister of Housing, has signed an $802.5 million contract for a land and housing project in St. Mary.
The money will be used for the development of 159 serviced lots and 99 two bedroom units in Boscobel.
The 34 hectare site is located five kilometres from Oracabessa and 13 kilometres from Port Maria.
Speaking at the signing at the Housing Agency of Jamaica on Tuesday, Dr. Chang said it is expected that the project will be done within budget and the stipulated 21-month period.
He pointed out that the serviced lots will be sold for about $2 million and the two-bedroom semi-detached units will go for $7.5 million.
