Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has announced that 750 hotel rooms will be constructed in Trelawny and the parties are close to signing off on all the paperwork and permits.
According to the Tourism Minister, construction will begin during the winter season.
He said this will be added to the nearly 15,000 new rooms already confirmed to be built over the next five years.
The Tourism Minister also announced on Tuesday that Jamaica is seeking to attract tourists from Armenia.
He said local tourism officials have contacted the largest tour operator in that country, which also has ties with Russia, the Czech Republic and Turkey.
The Tourism Minister said there are two million Armenians in the United States who travel annually throughout the Caribbean, except Jamaica.
He disclosed that a partnership has been forged with the tour operator and the Director of Tourism, Paul Pennicook, has been charged with responsibility to work out the marketing details.
