Red Stripe has sold its minority stake in two breweries across the region.
The company said, it sold its 5 percent stake in Haitian brewery Brasserie Nationale d'Haiti and its 10 percent stake in St Lucia based Windward and Leeward brewery.
Both stakes which were sold to Heineken on Thursday, earned Red Stripe more than J$982 million .
Red Stripe made the announcement in a regulatory filing to the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, saying this was the right time to dispose the assets, as its moves towards several ambitious projects.
Those projects include the installation of its co-generation plant and using local raw materials in its products.
