Scotia Group reports strong performance for Q1 2026

Scotia Group Jamaica is reporting strong financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026.

The financial group posted net income of $4.1 billion for the quarter ended January 31.

The company says total revenues, excluding credit losses, rose 9.9 per cent to $18.8 billion, while total deposits increased by 11.5 per cent year-over-year to $547.6 billion.

Despite widespread damage across several parishes from Hurricane Melissa, President and Chief Executive Officer Audrey Tugwell Henry says all business lines continued to deliver strong performance in serving clients.

Scotia says its loan portfolios also showed strong growth during the quarter.
