Executive Director of the Scientific Research Council, Dr. Charah Watson, says its 31st Science and Technology Conference underway at the Jamaica Conference Centre is a signature event.
The conference is being held in conjunction with the International Atomic Energy Agency, under the theme ‘Harmony in Innovation: Unleashing the Power of Nuclear Applications for Sustainable Development’.
Dr. Watson says the event demonstrates the SRC's commitment to fostering innovation and promoting scientific research in driving sustainable development.
She also stressed that the theme of this year's conference is a reflection of the Council's focus on exploring the critical role that nuclear energy can play in addressing national and global challenges.
Meanwhile, Dr. Watson added that medical professionals who attend Wednesday's session of the conference can earn 8 hours of Continuing Medical Education credits.
This because the meeting will focus on nuclear applications in medicine and cutting edge insights into advanced nuclear medical technologies, Jamaica's first nuclear pharmacy as well as on how nuclear technology is reshaping health care.
