The Accountant General's Department says it expects to complete by Friday payments to 82 pensioners who did not receive their funds on time for June.
The AGD says the processing of advanced payments started on Monday.
It explained that the challenge stemmed from the life certificates of the affected pensioners not being automatically uploaded due to a technical processing error.
The AGD says pensioners were contacted to inform them of the issue and advise them of the expected resolution timeline.
The Department says payments for the June 2025 pay cycle were successfully and timely disbursed to 34,106 pensioners on June 25.
Accountant General Anya Jones has committed to better communication with the pensioners.
"We got the complaint immediately after payday, one day after payday. We started our internal checks. When we identified this technological issue, we commenced immediately and we started producing or preparing payments outside of the usual payroll cycle. So as early as Monday of this week, we started processing. As at today, some persons have received, and we gave a commitment that persons will receive these payments by Friday."
Mrs. Jones admitted that the Department "could have done things a little differently", adding: "We could have had a targeted communication to these 82 persons. We didn't do that, but we have learned from that."
The Accountant General was a guest Wednesday on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines.
