Sydney Thwaites
Sydney Thwaites has been elected as the new president of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA).
He replaces John Mahfood, who served as president of the organisation for two terms, running from 2021 to 2023.
Mr. Mahfood is CEO of Jamaican Teas.
Mr. Thwaites, the president-elect, is the outgoing deputy president of the JMEA.
He has spent 28 years working in financial services and petrochemicals.
Mr. Thwaites is CEO of Lubricating Specialties Company Jamaica.
The JMEA membership elected Kathryn Silvera as the new deputy president.
Robert Scott has been returned as the organisation's treasurer.
Nine directors were chosen as part of the JMEA's leadership.
The newly elected team is to serve for a one-year term.
