4th season of Magnum Kings & Queens of the Dancehall kicks off

The fourth season of the Magnum Kings and Queens of the Dancehall competition was launched at Club Privilege in New Kingston Tuesday night and the producers are promising a season like no other.

Mark Kenny, Executive Producer, says there is a new presenter and new locations for the 2011 staging of the very popular television show.

"Additions for the show start on Saturday, (February 4) at the Amnesia night club in Ocho Rios, St. Ann and the Wexford Hotel in Montego Bay, St. James on Sunday."

The auditions will then move to May Pen, Clarendon on Saturday, February 12 and Portmore in St. Catherine on Sunday, February 13 before wrapping up at the Ranny Williams Centre in Kingston on Saturday, February 19.

Mr. Kenny says a new home for the live shows, which had been held at Weekendz in St. Andrew for the three seasons, has yet to be decided.

The show will also have a new host, Yannick Barrett following the decision by previous host Empress to leave the show to pursue other personal projects.

The objective of the first ever televised dancehall competition is to discover, encourage and showcase talent of aspiring local deejays and sing-jays.

It incorporates dancehall fashion, lifestyle and the best of Jamaica’s culture.
