A day after it was announced that singer Whitney Houston had checked herself back into a drug and alcohol rehab facility, fellow music legend Prince allegedly banned her from attending any of his future concerts.
This is because the troubled Houston has apparently embarrassed the Purple Rain singer at several of his shows.
According online sources, Prince said Houston had attended several of his concerts over the last few weeks and has appeared to be "intoxicated" each time.
The sources also claim that Houston would constantly demand excessive amounts of tickets from Prince and repeatedly begged his staff to let her on stage during the shows, which staffers declined to do, claiming they "didn’t want her to embarrass herself."
Fed up with Houston’s extreme behavior and excessive demands, Prince and his team have indefinitely banned Houston from his concerts.
A spokesperson for the troubled singer said Houston was undergoing treatment in an outpatient program for drug and alcohol issues on a voluntary basis as part of her "long-standing recovery process."
Houston, who has struggled with drugs and alcohol on and off for years, has been trying to reboot her once-soaring musical career for much of the past decade.
The latest attempt came in 2009 with I Look to You but the album and a subsequent tour failed to catch fire, with negative reviews for overseas shows, where fans complained about Houston's voice and performances.
Houston, 47, entered rehab in 2004 and again in 2005 and has admitted to substance abuse problems, but said around the time of her 2009 album release that she was feeling stronger and was focused on her sobriety.
