Shenna Carby wins Mission Catwalk

Denham Town resident Shenna Carby has been named the winner of the fashion design television series Mission Catwalk

The news was announced at a party hosted at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston Tuesday night, which was attended by Carby and co-finalist Ayanna Dixon. 

Her prizes include an internship at an international fashion house and a scholarship to study fashion designing at Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.

Mission Catwalk, the new reality series was aimed at discovering and developing talented local fashion designers for the international market. 

The show highlighted creativity in Jamaica and nurtured the talents of the contestants through challenges geared at identifying and honing a range of creative skills and abilities. 

Mission Catwalk was hosted by Keneea Linton-George, a fresh new face to local television. 

Mrs.Linton-George guided the aspiring designers through the challenges which included design production, runway shows, and weekly eliminations. 

The series culminated with two designers battling in Miami for the ultimate title of top designer at Miami Fashion week. 

The judges for the series were Novia McDonald-Whyte and Carlton Brown with several guest judges including, Kimberley Mais, Yendi Phillipps, Biggie and Miss Kitty.
