The Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth-based Two Seasons Guest House is partnering with other entities on the south coast tourism hub to present the inaugural Treasure Beach Bread Basket Festival from May 27 to 29.
According to online magazine, Tallawah, the organizers of the Festival say the event will be a weekend of cultural, culinary, music, literary and visual art events at different locations.
The Treasure Beach Bread Basket Festival will build on the vibe that was created by the Calabash International Literary Festival and will open on Friday May 27 with Culture Night.
Literary connoisseurs will have their appetites sated at the Two Seasons Talking Trees Literary Fiesta on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Talking Trees Fiesta will feature local readers of all genres of literature, and award winning Nigerian writer with Jamaican roots, Igoni Barrett on Saturday afternoon.
The Fiesta will also include recorded talk, and a children’s programme.
Following the literary fiesta, Calabashment happens on stage at Jack Sprat and will feature top reggae artistes.
Persons from St. Elizabeth are quite pleased that an event of this nature is returning and they plan to make it just as memorable as the Calabash festival.
