No replacement will be named for sprinter Ackeem Blake who has withdrawn from Jamaica's team for this weekend's World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China.
Radio Jamaica Sports has been reliably informed that based on competition rules, no other athlete can be added to the final list that was submitted by the local governing body the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA).
The 23-year-old Blake suffered what has been termed as slight discomfort, while placing 8th in the 200 metres in 21.09 seconds on Sunday's third and final day of Grand Slam Track in Miami.
It's understood that an MRI scan showed that the reigning Diamond League 100m champion did not sustain any major injury. However, he has withdrawn from the World Relays squad as a precaution.
With Blake ruled out, the remaining members of Jamaica's men's sprint relay pool are Olympic 100 metre silver medallist Kishane Thompson, Olympic double sprint silver medallist Yohan Blake, former national champion Rohan Watson, Olympian Julian Forte and Rasheed Foster, Bryan Levell and Javari Thomas.
