18-months hard labour for corrupt jurors

Two Clarendon women accused of trying to bribe the family if a murder accused have each been sentenced to 18 months at hard labour.

In December, Natalie Sill, 43, and Verona Samuels, 23, pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.

The women were serving as jurors when they approached the relatives of the accused man saying that for a fee, they could persuade the other jurors to return a not-guilty verdict.

Sill and Samuels were arrested when they went to collect the bribe.
