20 injured in Portland collision; one killed in Hanover

Twenty persons are being treated for injuries they sustained in a motor vehicle crash at Snow Hill in Portland. 

They were injured Thursday afternoon when a Toyota Hiace bus transporting mainly students from the Titchfield and Port Antonio High Schools collided with a Nissan Sunny motor car in the vicinity of  the Rio Grande Bridge.

Four of the injured persons have been hospitalised.

They include two male students from Titchfield High, the driver of  the mini bus and a female passenger. 

This is the first major crash since the new Rio Grande Bridge was opened. 

And there was a deadly motor vehicle crash in Hanover THursday.

Twenty-three year-old Orlando Latibeaudiere of  Cousins Cove in Green Island in the parish died in a collision on the Davis Cove main road.

According to the Green Island Police, Mr Latibeaudiere was driving a motorcycle towards Lucea when he crashed into a Toyota Corolla.

He sustained injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
