McLeod victorious at Adidas Atlanta City Games

Jamaica's 2024 World Indoor bronze medalist Carey McLeod was a winner at the Adidas Atlanta City Games in the United States on Saturday. McLeod leapt 8.33 metres to win the men's long jump ahead of Italy's reigning World Indoor champion Mattia Furlani with 8.28 metres.

On the track, former national junior standout Deandre Daley placed 3rd in the men's 100 metres, clocking 10.12 seconds behind South African winner Akani Simbine who sped to a wind-aided 9.86 seconds.

Earlier, Paris Olympic finalist Oblique Seville appeared to have suffered an injury in the heats and did not advance to the final.

Bryan Levell 20.06 and Demish Gaye 20.54, placed 4th and 5th respectively in the mens 200 metres which was won by Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes in outstanding but slightly wind-aided 19.55 seconds.

Ashanti Moore clocked 16.50 seconds for 3rd in the women's 150 metres which was won by Nigeria's Favour Ofili who became the first woman to dip under 16 seconds when came across the line in 15.85.

Paris Olympic finalist Orlando Bennett clocked 13.55 seconds for 3rd in the men's 110 hurdles which was won by American Trey Cunningham in 13.16 seconds.
