The Rohan Crichton-trained Commandant with champion jockey Raddesh Roman aboard, recorded an impressive victory in the Seeking My Dream Trophy, the feature event on Saturday's 9-race card at Caymanas Park.

The 5 year old American-bred bay horse dictated the early temp alongside the Gary Subratie pair of Desert of Malibu and Atomica before getting rid of those two rivals and eventually made most of the running in a brilliant performance.

Commandant covered the distance in a minute, 30.4 behind cracking splits of 23.2, 46.0 and 1:11.3 to win comfortably by two and a half lengths.

Roman highlighted the card with a three-timer, having earlier won the first two races on the programme astride the 2-1 chance bushfire and the 4-5 favourite Tigray Express. Trainer Byron Davis had a double. Racing continues on Friday with the Labour Day programme.
