The alleged commercial sex worker who was held for the stabbing death of a man at a popular truck stop in Salem nearly two weeks ago has been charged.
Anna-Kay Watson, 27, of Tower Hill in Kingston was charged on Sunday. She is to appear in the St. Ann Parish Court on Wednesday.
Miss Watson was charged with the murder of 37 year old Fredrick Jackson, a labourer of Philadelphia in St. Ann.
Mr. Jackson was reportedly involved in a sexual transaction with Miss Watson, after which he paid her, then brandished a knife and robbed her.
A report was made to two police officers nearby.
While the police were searching Mr. Jackson, Miss Watson reportedly pulled a knife and stabbed him.
He was pronounced dead at hospital.
