Scores of residents from Amity Hall St Thomas are now demonstrating in the area.
They say they were employed by The National Work Agency (NWA) to carry out a road patching exercise from Morant Bay to Hectors River.
They say they have not been paid for more than a month for work already done.
They also claim that after complaining they were laid off and replaced by other workers.
The NWA says they will be paid before the end of the month.
