Donovan Wignal

President of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Alliance, Donovan Wignal, says he will be making another push for insurance, at reasonable rates, to be made available to the sector.
Mr. Wignal says the passage of Hurricane Beryl has reinforced the vulnerability of businesses and the need for owners to have the ability to rebuild.
Speaking Tuesday on the Morning Agenda on Power 106, Mr. Wignal said he has faced a challenge in getting insurance for his members.
"I've been trying this for a while, and what I'm trying is to really find a way, find a route, find a path to getting reasonable, at best, insurance for the sector, to get companies using our numbers to get a policy of some sort - whether it's health, whether it's motor, whether it's peril insurance - for people to at least have some semblance of insurance for their businesses and for themselves," he said.
The Jamaica Employers' Federation has said it will be working with the MSME Alliance to resolve the issue.
