A team from the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority has been dispatched to the Tinson Pen Aerodrome after a small aircraft crashed at the facility on Thursday afternoon.
Deputy Director General of the JCAA, Rohan Campbell, told Radio Jamaica News that the team was sent to collect evidence to determine the circumstances that led to the crash of the PA-34 aircraft.
The plane reported crashed just beside one of the buildings at the aerodrome.
"Two persons were on board. They both exited the aircraft on their own power, by themselves, but they were taken to the hospital for medical treatment," said Mr. Campbell, who added that he did not yet have an update on their medical status.
"We will confirm any other details we have a little later. But investigations have just started and we're just trying to collect some info as to what could have caused this incident," he said.
