Barbados Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne has dismissed the 2024 national budget presented by Prime Minister Mia Mottley on Monday, warning Barbadians to be prepared for extreme hardship and poverty.
Mr Thorne told the Parliament yesterday that growth does not exist in Barbados, adding that the middle class is being driven into poverty.
In a near five hour rebuttal of the fiscal package, Mr Thorne, tore into the plans that deal with the country's debt, foreign reserves, and revenue earning measures over the next 12 months.
