Barbados will go back into lockdown for two-weeks including an 11-hour nightly curfew to bring the COVID-19 outbreak under control.
Prime Minister Mia Mottley made the announcement on Tuesday, as she also confirmed the country had recorded three cases of the UK COVID-19 variant.
In an address to the nation, Miss Mottley said three of 10 samples sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency for testing had confirmed the presence of the UK strain.
While she did not announce any border closures, she disclosed new travel requirements from February 3.
All persons travelling to Barbados must have a negative PCR test done 72 hours before arriving and will be subject to a rapid antigen test on arrival.
Mandatory quarantine at a government-approved facility has been increased from two to five nights for those with negative tests.
