Bob Marley statue restored

The life-sized bronze statue of Robert ‘Bob’ Marley located in the Celebrity Park outside the National Stadium in the Corporate Area has been cleaned. The statue was defaced earlier this week with splashes of red paint.

In a release late Friday, the Ministry of Youth and Culture said the  statue  that was cleaned by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust (JNHT), is part of the nation’s network of national monuments and heritage sites which fall within the portfolio of the Ministry of Youth and Culture.

The Ministry used the opportunity to urge the public to protect and preserve Jamaica’s cultural and national monuments.
The statue of the Reggae icon which is prominently positioned at the entrance to the National Stadium, was sculpted by renowned Jamaican sculptor Alvin Marriot.
