Breezes Trelawny to close

News has emerged that about 200 positions at the Breezes Trelawny Resort and Spa are to be made redundant.

Superclubs announced Thursday that the resort will close on May 31 following which it will be taken over by an overseas operator.

Head of  the Superclubs hotel chain, John Issa, told RJR News Thursday night that despite the upcoming redundancy exercise, job opportunities may arise with the new operator.

Although not giving details, Mr. Issa explained that the sale was a welcomed option based on the plans the new operators have for the property, and the potential benefit for the area.

He said that the deal was a win all round.
