British Airways is set to resume service to Montego Bay in October.
It will offer twice weekly flights between Gatwick in London and Sangster International.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett in hailing the return says it significantly improves seat capacity out of the UK and Continental Europe.
According to Mr. Bartlett the service will ensure a wider range of demographic arrivals out of Europe and the UK, and will bring to five the number of British Airways flight to Jamaica per week.
The airline had suspended service to Montego Bay in 2002 but currently provides service to Kingston three times per week.
The island is also served by Virgin Atlantic on the Jamaica/UK route.
