Brothers charged in relation to killing of Chinese couple in St. Elizabeth, remanded

The two brothers who are charged with the December 23 killing of a Chinese couple in Bellevue, St. Elizabeth and the fatal shooting of two women in Westmoreland in January, were remanded when they made their first appearance in court on Friday.

Nigel and Nicholas Walters appeared in the Home Circuit Court.

When the matter was called up on Friday afternoon, the court was told that the case files are incomplete.

Justice Simone Wolfe-Reece adjourned the matter until June 2 when it is expected that the files will be ready.

The Chinese couple was gunned down during a robbery at their business place, Jojo's Supermarket.

In the second incident, 45-year-old businesswoman Sophia Brown and 58-year-old farmer Bernie Lewis were at Miss Brown's grocery store in Long Hill, Whitehouse on January 12, when they were allegedly shot by the Walters brothers who were posing as customers.
