General Secretary of the People's National Party, Dr. Dayton Campbell, has expressed confidence that his party will be victorious in the Manchester North Eastern constituency at the next general election.

Outgoing member of Parliament, the Jamaica Labour Party's Audley Shaw, has held the seat since 1993.

Holmwood Technical High Principal Hidran McKulsky and Craighead Division Councillor Omar Miller are two aspirants for the constituency, but the Jamaica Labour Party is yet to name a candidate for the constituency.

Val Wint is the caretaker for the PNP.

Dr. Campbell says the JLP is scrambling to find a candidate to contest the seat.

"Man a Yaad realise seh di yard gone lef him. Him a try give it to him councillor but the Prime Minister seh him is not MP material. Him want give to the principal but the people seh dem nuh want him. Dem lef go ask Audrey Marks and she nuh meet di mark. So when the next elections are called, and the ballots are counted, this constituency will be in the column of the People's National Party," he declared.

Dr. Campbell was speaking Sunday night at a Christiana Divisional Conference in Manchester.
