The fifteen-member Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has called for the United Nations to use its powers to hold an emergency meeting in order to impose measures to ensure Jerusalem's immediate compliance with its orders.
CARICOM has expressed distress over what it describes as Israel's flouting of directives.
Efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire have thrice been thwarted at the UN Security Council by vetoes from the United States.
CARICOM says it deplores the fact that Israel has ignored the resolutions of both the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council calling for a ceasefire, as well as the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice.
