Director of Elections Glasspole Brown
The Electoral Office of Jamaica has completed the final counting of ballots for the by-elections in the Morant Bay and Aenon Town electoral divisions and the Trelawny Southern and St. Andrew North Western constituencies.
Director of Elections Glasspole Brown said the final count was completed on Sunday.
In the Trelawny Southern constituency, the Jamaica Labour Party's Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert received 4,153 votes to the independent candidate, Lloyd Gillings' 1,440 votes - beating him by a margin of 2,713 votes.
For St. Andrew North Western, independent candidate Carl Marshall, who polled 110 votes, was defeated by the JLP's Duane Smith, who received 1,857 votes. The margin of victory was 1,747 votes.
In the Aenon Town division in Clarendon Northern, Suzette Barton of the Jamaica Labour Party polled 1,586 votes, while Delroy Dawson of the People's National Party polled 1,640 votes to claim victory by 54 votes.
The PNP's Yvonne Rosemarie Shaw defeated the JLP's Winston Downie in the Morant Bay division in St. Thomas Eastern. She polled 2,100 votes to Mr. Downie's 1,974 - a margin of 126 votes.
