Cayman Islands Police Commissioner David Baines is facing calls to resign after it was discovered that a Jamaican policeman, convicted last month for a murder in St. Elizabeth, was serving at the time of his trial, with the Royal Caymanian Police Force.
Tyrone Findlay's employment with the Caymanian police was terminated following his conviction on November 19.
Findlay was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the January 1, 2010 fatal shooting of a man.
Bernie Bush, Deputy Opposition Leader in Cayman, is leading the charge for the Commissioner to resign.
"(It) is obvious that his policies are a (sic) absolute failure," Bush said, in reference to Baines, in a report carried by Cayman 27 TV.
