Court of Appeal President defends integrity of the judiciary

President of the Court of Appeal Marva McDonald Bishop has defended the integrity of the judiciary amidst social media posts questioning the impartiality of the judges. 
 
There have been claims of corruption within the judiciary following several high profile cases. 
 
Mrs McDonald Bishop declared on Friday that Jamaica has some of the best judges  who operate at a high ethical standard.
 
The senior judge was addressing a commissioning ceremony for Justices of the Peace and Lay Magistrates at Church Teachers College in Mandeville on Thursday. 
 
Thirty-three JPs and 18 lay magistrate candidates were commissioned at the event.
