The Court of Appeal has reserved judgment in the matter involving a former Kensington Primary student whose parents are claiming that her constitutional rights were breached when she was denied access to the school in 2018 because of her dreadlocked hairstyle.
Their attorneys are challenging the Supreme Court's ruling last year that the child's constitutional rights were not breached.
The court reserved judgment in the matter after hearing two days of arguments.
President of the Court of Appeal Patrick Brooks on Thursday morning sought to temper expectations of a quick delivery of a decision in the matter.
Justice Brooks said individuals who are anticipating a decision in the near future will be left disappointed.
He said there are a number of authorities to consider and that the Court of Appeal will be careful in its deliberations.
