Following a flare-up of gang violence in Manchester over the last few days, the Police High Command has imposed a 48-hour curfew in sections of the parish.

The curfew, imposed in the Mayday, Barnstable and surrounding communities, started at 6 p.m. Wednesday and expires on Friday.

Four people have been shot, three fatally, in Manchester since Tuesday.

The latest deadly attack occurred on Wednesday night at a bar in Christiana.

The victim has been identified as Romario White, a carpenter from Christiana.

Investigators say Mr. White was inside a bar having drinks when a man entered and shot him.

He was later pronounced dead at hospital.

Wednesday night's incident followed another attack in which three men were shot, two fatally, at a bar in Lower Albion district, Mandeville.

Councillor for the Walderston Division, David Knight, bemoaned the incidents, noting that they highlight the heartlessness of criminals.

"They will go anywhere for you, and we are not safe. And now families are grieving of their loved ones. And so, I am appealing to those who see and know anything, tell the police what you know because we must put them to justice," he urged.

The councillor also called for the police to crack down on the increased violence in Manchester.
