Executive Chairman of the Environmental Health Foundation Group of Companies and famed Scientist, Dr.Henry Lowe, was this week honoured with a major international award.
Dr. Lowe received a Proclamation from the United States House of Representatives; and a Citation from the New York State Senate, for his outstanding contributions to the sciences, science education and exemplary public service.
He received the Proclamation, signed by Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke and Citation signed by New York’s 20th District State Senator Eric Adams, at the Barclays Center in New York City on Monday. The Jamaican scientist was elated over the two awards, and said he was even more happy that it followed the recent award bestowed on him by the Simpson-Miller administration, and not the other way around. He said the award shows that his work is being recognised.
Dr.Lowe is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine, USA; and Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Ethno-medicinal Chemistry, University of Technology, Jamaica.
He is also the author of multiple scientific journal articles and books including his most recent, It Can be Done, an autobiography.
