An elderly man died in a house fire in Balvenie Heights, Manchester yesterday.
He is 74-year-old Ronald West.
The Jamaica Fire Brigade says sometime after midday it responded to reports of a fire at the 12 apartment building.
The blaze was extinguished.
Head of the Manchester fire Brigade Superintendent Rohan Powell says Mr West's body was found during cooling down operations.
He's cautioning residents about the use of candles and generators amid the loss of electricity in sections of the parish following the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
