Elva Ruddock is dead

Elva Ruddock, the popular comedienne and radio personality,  who went by the stage name Elva, is dead.

Elva, born and raised in Rollington Town, died on the weekend following what some say was a brief illness.

Dahlia Harris, media personality and actress, who on many occasions shared the stage with Elva, recounted their friendship, describing her as “family”.

“It’s hard to speak about someone’s death when this was a person that was so full of life and always encouraging people to live every moment,” she observed.

“I’m happy that she lived and enjoyed life,” she added.

For several years, Elva Ruddock was a key member of the group of personalities who participated in Full House Fridays – a light hearted look at life in Jamaica – once per week on FAME 95FM, part of the RJRGleaner Group.
