Another suspect has been charged in connection with the September 2023 kidnapping and murder of Toshyna Patterson and her 10-month-old daughter, Sarayah Paulwell, who she shared with Member of Parliament Phillip Paulwell.

The police say the fifth person, Bjon Black, has been slapped with a list of charges including two counts of murder, conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to kidnap.

Black, who was charged on January 12, appeared before the Home Circuit Court last Tuesday.

He is to return in March to join two other defendants, American citizen Leoda Bradshaw, the alleged mastermind behind the killings, and her cousin Roland Balfour.

Two others were sentenced after they pleaded guilty to charges in relation to the kidnapping and killing of the woman and her child.

Richard Brown is serving a 30-year prison sentence, while Roshane Miller is serving a seven-year sentence.

Prosecutors had reported that Ms. Patterson and her daughter were kidnapped on September 9, last year.

They were transported to a location in East Kingston where they were shot and their bodies burned.
