Operations at The Wexford Hotel in Montego Bay, St James were hampered on Wednesday [January 4] by a fire, which damaged several rooms at the Gloucester Avenue property.
The fire reportedly started in one of the rooms shortly after 2:00 .a.m. and up to late Wednesday afternoon; fire personnel said they were not sure what triggered the blaze.
A total of four rooms were badly burnt while several others had water and smoke damage.
Several guests close to the room where the fire started were evacuated for several hours.
There were no reports of injury.
The cost of the damage is yet to be ascertained.
