The Clarendon police are searching for the gunmen behind Wednesday night's attack in the community of Slim Lane, in Curatoe Hill, which left four residents nursing bullet wounds.
The attack occurred about 8:45 p.m.
The police reported that a group of persons had gathered at a shop in the community when a white Nissan Tiida motorcar, with several men aboard, drove up.
Two armed men alighted the vehicle and began firing on the group.
It was then discovered that four persons sustained bullet wounds.
The injured men were rushed to hospital for treatment.
One of them is said to be in serious condition.
The Clarendon police are probing allegations that the attack was carried out in retaliation for the February 13 shooting death of Fitz Callaghan in the Slim Lane community.
It's alleged that he was killed after opening a shop in the community.
