The 2022 game bird hunting season will open on Saturday with game bird hunters able to hunt four types of birds.
The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) says birds permitted to be hunted are the zenaida dove or pea dove, white-winged dove, white-crowned pigeon or baldpate and mourning dove or long-tailed pea dove.
The season will close on Sunday September 25.
NEPA has warned that hunting within game reserves or sanctuaries, forest reserves, the Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park, and within 50 metres of the respective boundaries is prohibited.
The overall bag limit per hunting session is 20 birds.
NEPA says no more than 15 should be white-crowned pigeons.
