Government eases COVID restrictions

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced a relaxation of the curfew and other COVID-19 restrictions.
 
Effective Thursday, November 18, the new curfew will begin at 9:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 a.m. daily.
 
The measure will remain in effect until December 10.
 
Mr. Holness made the announcement in the House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
The limit on the number of people able to attend places of worship as well as weddings has been increased from 50 to 100, providing the social distance requirements are met.  
 
Twenty people are allowed to attend funerals and burials.
 
Additionally, fully vaccinated people who obtain a PCR test prior to travelling to Jamaica, will no longer be required to do another PCR test after arrival in order to be released from quarantine after eight days.
