Government urged to "articulate clear vision" for development of marijuana industry

Opposition Spokesman on Industry, Anthony Hylton, is calling for the government to articulate a clear vision and policy for the development of the legal medical marijuana industry.

This follows an online media report that investors are being frustrated by the bureaucratic inertia within the Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA)

Hylton, who was Industry Minister when the CLA was established, says detailed industry blueprint and draft interim regulations were developed.

He says the state of  affairs at the CLA has been shrouded in mystery since the Government assumed office earlier this year.

The Opposition Spokesman adds that the decisions made to reverse key elements in the interim regulations could be the death knell of  the Cannabis Licensing Authority.
